Vision

To see the community of Port Hope transformed by the good news of Jesus.

Often we proclaim the good news of Jesus as good news for eternity, and we absolutely believe that, but we also believe that it is good news for today.

As a church we believe that God has called us to shine his light in order that people would praise Him. (Matthew 5:14,16) We also believe that as we see Jesus’ kingdom grow in our community, it will accomplish the work he started - proclaiming good news to the poor and oppressed.  (Luke 4:18-19)

We believe that truly proclaiming the Gospel means that we will see our community transformed.

Mission

A local church sharing the love of God and hope of Jesus with Port Hope.

As a church we believe we will see our vision come to fruition when we share the love of God through our actions (1 John 3:18) and proclaim the hope of Jesus with our words. (Mark 16:15) Both are necessary parts of seeing the Gospel spread in our community.

Values

The Values of Hope Community Church flow from Acts 2 and the practices of the early church.

Value 1: Building Relationship with God

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
Acts 2:42

Value 2: Building Relationship with Each Other

And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts.
Acts 2:44-46

Value 3: Building Relationship with Our Community

Praising God and having favour with all the people.
Acts 2:47
