The history of Hope Community Church is one of God’s faithfulness in spite of difficult odds. There are many churches in Port Hope, but most of them have struggled over the past couple of decades, seeing a steady decline in numbers. In 2012, Ben & Naomi began praying that God would do something that would reach the people of Port Hope who don’t yet know Jesus. Little did they know that almost a decade later God would use them to lead a church plant to see that vision accomplished. In 2018, this vision was approved by our sending church, FBC Cobourg, and with a core team of 30 faithful people we launched our first service in November of 2020 - that’s right, during COVID. But God was faithful and our church saw growth and community impact even in spite of a global pandemic. Since then, Hope Community Church has put a big emphasis on building relationships: relationship with God, relationship with each other, and relationship with our community - Port Hope.
